The Initiation Process is the first process in the Project Management Life Cycle. In this process the project has to be defined. Business needs, project justification, project description, scope, purpose and deliverables are defined, all in the Project Charter

The Project Manager develops the Project Charter, that it is subject to approval by the Project Sponsor

The next step is Create Project Charter
