The Closure Process is used to formally terminate the project.

This process checks that the Final product, service, result is in agreement with the project goals and that the Project Sponsor is satisfied with it. Additionally, this phase checks that the client contract and the provider contracts are closed.

Steps

This work unit is decomposed into the following Work units, Events and Decisions

Close Project Roles Project Manager

To close the Project, the Project Manager has the following inputs (when applicable):

• Deliverables
• Project Management Plan
• Project State Report

With these inputs the Project Manager checks that the project is finished, the deliverables are accepted by the Project Sponsor, and the Project Management Plan is executed. The Project Manager and the Project Sponsor sign the Project Closeout, a document with the following items:

• Sponsor Closure
  
• Lessons Learned

Contract Closure Roles Project Manager

The Contract Closure is the process that checks that all the contracts are completed. The Project Manager checks that all the providers contracts are completed and that the Deliverables for these contracts are delivered. He/she also checks that the client contract is complete.
